Your Future Role

The Quality Engineer will support motor manufacturing operations by driving the resolution of quality-related issues, eliminating barriers to production, and leading structured problem-solving initiatives. This individual contributor role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and suppliers to improve product quality, reduce defects, enhance customer satisfaction, and lower the Cost of Non-Quality (NCC).

 

This position supports the manufacturing of large industrial motors and drive systems in a highly engineered production environment, with responsibility for both internal manufacturing quality and supplier quality performance.

 

This position is based in the Norwood, OH facility and will work a hybrid schedule.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Support manufacturing operations by investigating and resolving quality issues.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and drive corrective actions.
  • Analyze production, field, and customer quality data to identify trends and root causes.
  • Lead and participate in structured problem-solving activities using tools such as 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Develop and verify containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
  • Communicate quality issues and corrective action plans to customers and stakeholders.
  • Support Field Action Plans and customer quality initiatives as needed.
  • Develop and maintain FMEAs, Control Plans, and related quality documentation.
  • Conduct supplier audits and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Track and analyze quality KPIs, including Cost of Non-Quality (NCC).
  • Support supplier qualification, First Article Inspections (FAI), and new product introduction activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.

 

Your profile.

Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including 1-2 years of supplier quality experience.
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies, including 8D and 5 Whys.
  • Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, Control Plans, FAI, CAPA, and process audits.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across functions, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional domestic and international travel.

 

The pay range for this position is $73,400 - $125,800. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
