Your Future Role

Innomotics is seeking an experienced Buyer to support manufacturing operations by managing MRP-driven procurement activities, supplier relationships, and material availability. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders from creation through receipt, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and proactively resolving supply issues that impact production.

 

The ideal candidate has experience in an engineer-to-order (ETO) or custom manufacturing environment, understands manufacturing processes and technical drawings, and can effectively partner with suppliers to manage complex components and lead times. This is a relationship-driven procurement role that requires strong supplier engagement, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.

 

This position is based in Norwood, OH and will work a hybrid schedule.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process MRP requirements and create purchase orders in SAP.
  • Manage purchase orders from creation through receipt.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Expedite orders, monitor supplier performance, and communicate delivery updates.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers, freight carriers, and import brokers.
  • Monitor open orders and proactively address material shortages.
  • Process engineering change requests/orders and communicate changes to suppliers.
  • Resolve supplier quality issues, invoice discrepancies, and supplier credits.
  • Participate in daily production/GEMBA meetings to support manufacturing needs.
  • Support purchasing KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Your profile.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer/planner experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting ETO, MTO, or custom-engineered products.
  • Experience working in an MRP-driven environment.
  • SAP MM experience and strong Excel skills.
  • Proven supplier relationship management and negotiation experience.
  • Experience purchasing technical or engineered components.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and proactively resolve supply issues in support of production.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in motor, industrial equipment, electrical products, or similar manufacturing industries.
  • Power BI experience.
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled tools within procurement or supply chain processes.

 

The pay range for this position is $71,300 - $122,300. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
