The role.
This position is responsible for early involvement during new product development as a cost and value engineer for Electrical and electronics commodities in Medium Voltage Drives and few other businesses such as High Voltage Motors etc.

Work scope is to focus on crafting cost visibility, defining target costs, total Cost of product/supplied good, finding cost saving measures, suggesting design changes for the best competitive edge of Innomotics’ products in market by competitor analysis (benchmarking).

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generation of cost visibility at design stage itself- Cost Analysis and Optimization (CAO).
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure that Design to Cost (DtC), Design to Value (DtV), and Eco-Robust-Design principles are considered early in the product development phase. Work closely with product designers and engineers to optimize product designs for cost efficiency and sustainability.
  • Challenge requirements and propose design options and changes in system / components architecture (Dtx measures) to R&D and evaluate the related cost impact.
  • Promote and drive Standardization and Harmonization to leverage pooling potentials
  • Conduct Sprints / workshops for new products to generate design to cost, design to value, robust eco design ideas.
  • Evaluation of new insights and monitor for implementation along with procurement engineers.
  • Provide target cost for new products/ components
  • Competitor analysis (benchmarking) – preparation of competitors BOM in reverse engineering way, along with cost position and design changes impact
  • Ensure early involvement of right supplier along with procurement engineering (PE), build cost baseline and support in negotiating contracts or component costs.
  • Be an active member of CVE community within Innomotics to build cost models to avoid repetitive work, finding innovative way to work and deliver projects and transfer knowledge.

 

 Your profile.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Commodities, Industrial Engineering
  • 10+ years long-term relevant working experience in product development, systems engineering, production engineering, procurement engineering or cost and value engineering for electrical and electronics commodities
  • Proven track record in defining and implementing improvement measures
  • Experience handling cost and value engineering activities, worked in manufacturing or process engineering, strategic sourcing, procurement.
  • Experience handling mechanical commodities like EMS, power semiconductors, passive components, Transformers, relays and windings on PCB, cables and cable assemblies, Motor/Drives assembly process

 

The pay range for this position is $87,000 - $149,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
