(HV Motors & MV Drives Factory)

  1. Final Motor Testing and Inspection à Responsibilities
  • Execute customer inspections independently which includes conducting test, doing test documentation, analyze results, resolve customer queries & conclude inspection through formal MOM
  • Participate in new product development process through prototype/investigative testing
  • Maintenance of various test setup equipment’s such electric panels, motor, generator, transformer, instrumentation. Doing the basis trouble shooting in case of any breakdowns/issue.
  • Execute the testing, maintenance activity following all safety procedures & strict adherence to EHS Guidelines.
  • Should be familiar with 5S & implement improvement measures in own area
  • Contribute to development and adoption of appropriate Quality procedures in case of new product development
  • Document results in the systems and initiates necessary corrective action with the support of respective department
  • Familiar with QMS : ISO 9001 & should be able to follow the quality system
  • He should have basis knowledge of calibration of instrument.
  • Knowledge about drive, PLC, maintenance & trouble shooting will be added advantage.
  • Person should have good communication skills as this position will be directly interacting with customer
  • Person should have good interpersonal skills & good team player

 

  1. Quality Gate Management  à Responsibilities
  • Implement and control quality gates/ verify as per Checklist for critical stages as per Control plan and QAP (Copper à winding à VPI à  assembly à testing)
  • Ensure no motor/drive proceeds without passing mandatory quality checks.
  • Monitor adherence to checkpoints, inspection records, and digital sign‑off.

KPIs

  • Quality Gate Compliance (%)
  • Gate‑Wise Rejection/Stop Incidents
  • Gate Check sheet/ Checklist Completeness (%)

  1. Root‑Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Deployment (CAPA) à Responsibilities
  • Lead on‑floor root‑cause investigations for failures and deviations.
  • Use structured tools: 8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa, FMEA.
  • Validate effectiveness of corrective actions through follow‑up audits.

  • CAPA Closure Rate (%)
  • Repeat Defect Frequency (%)
  • Average RCA Completion Time (days)
  1. Process Compliance & SOP Adherence à Responsibilities
  • Ensure operators follow SOPs, work instructions, inspection standards, and special process controls.
  • Conduct daily checks to verify compliance in winding, brazing, insulation preparation, VPI cycle documentation, and assembly sequences.
  • Identify gaps in operator practices and enforce corrective behaviour.

  • Process Audit Closure Time
  1. Defect Prevention & Quality Improvement Projects à Responsibilities
  • Reduce recurring defects in coils, windings, VPI impregnation, assembly alignment, insulation failures, and testing deviations.
  • Implement Poka‑Yoke (error proofing) on shopfloor.
  • Support Lean/Kaizen projects focused on quality improvement.

  1. Supplier‑Related Quality on Shopfloor à Responsibilities
  • Identify supplier‑related issues during production (copper cracks, insulation tears, machining variations, PCB failures).
  • Coordinate with SQE and incoming inspection for fast resolution.
  • Segregate, tag, and control suspect material on shopfloor.

KPIs

  • Supplier Defect Detections at Shopfloor (%)
  • Supplier NCR Count
  • Response Time to Incoming Quality Issues
  1. Measurement System & Quality Tools Usage à Responsibilities
  • Ensure correct usage of gauges, micrometres, torque tools, multimeters, PD testers, and electrical instruments.
  • Identify broken/out‑of‑calibration tools and escalate immediately.
  • Train operators and inspectors on measurement techniques.

  • Measurement Error Incidents
  • Tool Availability & Calibration Compliance (%)

  1. Rework Control & Scrap Reduction à Responsibilities
  • Track shopfloor rework activities and implement corrective actions to prevent repeat occurrences.
  • Analyse scrap reasons in winding, lamination, machining, VPI, and assembly.
  • Ensure proper approval before scrapping or reworking any material.

  • Rework Hours per Unit
  • Scrap Rate (%)
  • Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ %)

  1. Quality Training & Competency Development à Responsibilities
  • Train operators in defect identification, inspection techniques, torque standards, handling of coils and electronics.
  • Develop skill‑certification programs for quality‑critical tasks.
  • Conduct regular refresher training based on audit findings.

  1. Cross‑Functional Collaboration à Responsibilities
  • Work with production, engineering, SCM, test bay, and maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns quickly.

  • Support engineering change implementation on shopfloor.
