The Role

Proposal Engineering & Estimation

  • Prepare and evaluate techno-commercial proposals, including technical specifications, cost estimation, and risk evaluation.
  • Interpret client specifications, tender documents, and engineering requirements to develop customized technical solutions.
  • Manage complete proposal preparation for Cement, Mining, Material Handling, Metals, and related industrial projects.
  • Prepare technical submissions including:
    • Sales calculations
    • Material take-offs / BOMs
    • Procurement specifications
    • Vendor / sub-supplier coordination
  • Collaborate with proposal teams during pre-bid and post-bid stages.
  • Standardize proposal formats, estimation tools, and documentation processes.
  • Drive implementation and effective usage of standardized sales & proposal tools such as One-SAM and Proposal SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with internal factories, business units, and divisions for detailed costing and pricing of Electrical & Automation packages.
  • Ensure quality management and maximum document reusability through standardization practices.

Project Execution & Management

  • Manage end-to-end execution of Electrical & Automation projects for Cement, Mining, Material Handling, Metals, and allied industries.
  • Take ownership of:
    • Profit & Loss (P&L)
    • Risk management
    • Contract management
    • Stakeholder management
    • Claims & change order management
  • Ensure project execution within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality parameters.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, customers, logistics partners, installation teams, and vendors to ensure timely delivery and successful project completion.
  • Support scheduling, expediting, and monitoring activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through quality execution and proactive issue resolution.

Education & Experience

Education

  • BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • 5–15 years of hands-on experience in proposal engineering and/or project management in industries such as:
    • Cement
    • Mining
    • Material Handling
    • Metals
    • Pharma
    • Food & Beverage
    • Chemical
    • Water & Wastewater (W&WW)
  • Experience in selection and costing of electrical equipment such as:
    • MV & LV Switchboards
    • Transformers
    • LV Motors & Drives
    • Lighting Systems
    • MV/LV Capacitor Banks
    • Earthing Systems
    • HVAC / Air Conditioning
    • Fire Alarm & Detection Systems
    • Spares & Tools
  • Hands-on experience in costing systems and electrical package estimation is essential.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of electrification, automation, and digitalization solutions for Cement, Mining, Metals, and Material Handling sectors.
  • Knowledge of industry trends including:
    • Decarbonization
    • Energy conservation
    • Zero-emission initiatives
    • KPI monitoring & calculations
  • Exposure to New Energy technologies, CCUS, and BESS will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to efficiently execute critical project activities while ensuring team delivery and coordination.
  • Understanding of Pharma, F&B, Chemical, or W&WW industry processes will be an added advantage.
