Job responsibilities:
- Responsible for accounting topics for the APAC&ME with strong hands-on experience in handling full set of accounts.
- Aid the regional and country accountants regarding IFRS topics (i.e., accounting advisory to the business, closing and reporting tasks, disclosure requirements)
- Carry out tasks and oversee monthly closing activities.
- Coordinate and support audit activities (internal and external)
- Be a Topic Matter Expert for complex accounting topics.
- Be a strong partner to the local businesses within the APAC&ME region and support them in selected tasks.
- Perform financial statement reviews and follow-up on action items because of the reviews.
- Having additional experience in handling indirect and corporation tax matters would be appreciated.
- Take over the project management role for IT-migration, digitalization and process optimization initiatives.
- Support ad-hoc requirements/tasks.
Qualification/Skills:
- Degree in Accounting and Finance with at least 10 years of working experience in Big 4, multinational corporation clients or direct multinational corporation.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA).
- Be well versed with local GAAP and IFRS and the application of the standards in practice.
- Ability to collaborate successfully in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.
- Expert knowledge and experience in accounting for construction contracts, forex accounting, provisions and accrual.
- Deep knowledge of SAP/SAP S4 HANA (especially finance modules) and value flows, preferably someone, who has worked in implementation or migration projects.
- Able to work independently, self-motivated, possess analytical skills and ability to adapt to change,
- Able to manage different stakeholders across different cultures
