Your Future Role

• Mission
  • You will take ownership of our global export control, sanctions, and customs compliance framework. Whether you already bring leadership experience or are ready to grow into a team lead role, you will shape and steer a robust, future-proof governance structure across all regions.
  • Your goal: ensure full compliance with international trade regulations while enabling efficient and secure global business operations.
• Global Compliance & Governance for Export Control and Customs Topics
  • Develop, implement, and continuously enhance a global export control and customs compliance framework
  • Ensure adherence to international sanctions regimes (EU, US, UK, UN, etc.) and customs regulations
  • Establish and maintain global policies, standards, and governance structures
• Advisory & Business Partnering
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders (Sales, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, etc.)
  • Review and assess complex international business transactions from a trade compliance perspective
  • Provide guidance on export classifications, licensing requirements, and sanctions risks
• Operational Excellence
  • Design and optimize processes, tools, and systems for export control and customs compliance
  • Oversee screening processes (customers, suppliers, transactions)
  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives in compliance workflows
• Leadership & Development
  • Lead or grow into leading a small international team of export control and customs professionals
  • Foster a culture of compliance awareness across global entities
  • Deliver training and communication programs worldwide
• Risk Management & Monitoring
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across all regions
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits or authority inquiries
  • Monitor regulatory changes and translate them into actionable measures

Your Profile

• Degree in Law, Business, International Trade, or a related field
• Several years of experience in export control, sanctions, and/or customs compliance
• Experience in an international, multi-entity environment is a strong plus
• Initial leadership experience or strong potential and motivation to step into a leadership role
• Solid knowledge of EU export control laws and ideally US (e.g., EAR, OFAC) and other international regulations
• Familiarity with customs regulations, tariff classifications, and cross-border trade processes
• Experience with compliance tools and screening systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Confident stakeholder management across functions and cultures
• Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
