JOB SUMMARY

Identifying, managing and optimizing the Indian supply base for the global purchasing volume of the Innomotics High Voltage (HV) Division across mechanical and electrical commodities (e.g. castings, large steel fabrication, sheet metal parts, cabinets, insulation, cooling systems, machined parts, transformers, etc.) that are feasible for export.

Planning, implementing and controlling globally aligned projects and measures to increase the global HV purchasing volume from India to improve supply chain performance regarding productivity, assets, quality, availability and innovation. 

 

Areas of Responsibility:

Understand the business needs of HV and its locations to identify Local for Global (L4G) commodity opportunities

Identify capable and competitive suppliers in India to generate cost savings for global factories

Network with HV Factory Procurement and Global Commodity Managers to identify projects for India sourcing potential

Organize and drive global sourcing projects by leading cross-functional teams internationally

Perform basic supplier audits and assessments to evaluate capabilities and ensure a smooth transition of global requirements to Indian suppliers

Manage the entire value chain including RfQ, price and term negotiations, sourcing decisions, contract execution, FAI, and factory implementation

Execute partner management with India suppliers and drive continuous improvement

Contribute to global and local commodity strategies and execute within the India supply base for responsible commodities

Drive material productivity through effective procurement levers (e.g. negotiation, cost breakdown transparency, should-cost modeling, supplier benchmarking, e-sourcing, global value sourcing, standardization)

Practice supply market intelligence to detect and observe commercial & technical trends, mitigate risks and drive business value

Implement best-in-class Supply Chain Management processes with a focus on productivity, assets, quality, delivery reliability and innovation to pursue the targets of supply chain diversification and resiliency

Manage escalations with suppliers and internal stakeholders related to delivery delays, quality performance, obsolescence and contract disputes, to resolve critical issues and maintain supply continuity

Ensure data transparency and report relevant procurement KPIs in assigned commodities

Develop and present annually the regional commodity and supplier management overview with detailed multi-year strategy and defined measures to achieve the overall business goals and procurement deliverables

Qualification & Experience:

BE Mechanical or Higher Degree with minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in Mechanical Commodities

Professional Experience: 8 to 14 years of experience with minimum of 3 years in Manufacturing

At least 3 years in Strategic Sourcing / Global Sourcing / Commodity Management

Experience leading Global teams will be preferred

Open to travel on a regular basis (mainly domestically) but international travel may be required
