JOB SUMMARY

Roles & Responsibilities -- HV Motors & MV Drives

The position oversees end‑to‑end supply chain operations, ensuring timely availability of materials, cost optimization, supplier performance, logistics efficiency, and strong coordination with production, quality, and engineering.

1. Strategic Supply Chain Planning à Responsibilities

• Develop long term supply chain strategy aligned with business goals (cost, speed, flexibility).
• Plan procurement and inventory policies for copper, steel laminations, castings, insulation systems, power electronics, Power cells, magnetics, and resins.
• Build SCM resilient SCM as per Forecast demand for HV Motors and MV Drives based on sales pipeline.
• Ensure alignment between planning, production, and supplier capacities.

2. Supplier Development & Performance Management à Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard suppliers for critical components (copper, rotors, stator frames, PCBs, control modules).
• Lead supplier audits, capability assessment, and risk evaluation.
• Drive supplier quality improvement programs and localization initiatives (SQM)
• Negotiate long-term contracts, pricing structures, and SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

• Supplier On-time Delivery (OTD %)
• Supplier Quality PPM
• Supplier Risk Score
• Localization/Cost Savings Achieved (₹ / %)

3. Procurement Excellence & Cost Optimization à Responsibilities

• Ensure timely procurement of long-lead items (laminations, castings, special bearings, VPI resin, IGBTs).
• Optimize cost through strategic sourcing, volume bundling, and negotiation.
• Control procurement lead time and reduce emergency purchases.
• Implement cost‑control for copper, aluminium and electrical steel (key cost drivers).

4. Inventory Management & Warehouse Operations à Responsibilities

• Define inventory norms for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Ensure FIFO/FILO for insulation kits, varnish/resins, and electronic components.
• Optimize warehouse layout for motors, drives, coils, and power modules.
• Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory.

• Inventory Turnover Ratio
• Days of Inventory (DOI)
• Obsolete Inventory (%)
• Stock Accuracy (%)

5. Logistics, Transportation & Customs Compliance à Responsibilities

• Plan inbound and outbound logistics for heavy equipment (frames, rotors, motors).
• Optimize freight cost for domestic and international shipments.
• Manage customs clearance, HS codes, and import documentation for electronic components.
• Ensure safe transport of motors/drives to customers and field locations.

6. Production Collaboration & Material Availability à Responsibilities

• Ensure material readiness for production of HV motors and MV drives.
• Monitor BOM accuracy and engineering change implementation (ECN).
• Resolve shortages proactively using expediting, alternate sourcing, or design compatibility.

7. Digitalization, Systems & Process Excellence à Responsibilities

• Implement SAP / NEXUS tools for demand planning, procurement, and inventory.
• Standardize SOPs across sourcing, procurement, and stores.
• Lead continuous improvement using Lean/Kaizen for SCM processes.

8. Risk Management & Compliance à Responsibilities

• Develop mitigation plans for key risks: commodity price volatility, import delays, single‑source suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and audit requirements.
• Maintain dual sourcing strategy for critical components.

9. Cross‑Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement à Responsibilities

• Work closely with production, engineering, finance, and quality teams.
• Support customer service for urgent field requirements, replacements, and retrofit projects.
• Participate in new product development (NPD) for sourcing new technologies.
