Your Profile
Drive new business and grow revenue for geared motors across industrial sectors in Chennai/Delhi/Kolkata and adjoining regions. Manage end-to-end sales cycle — prospecting, technical solutioning with application support, quoting, negotiation, order closure, and post-sale coordination with service/technical teams. Build/strengthen relationships with OEMs, distributors, panel builders, and project contractors.
Key responsibilities:
- New business development: identify and qualify prospects (OEMs, EPCs, distributors, aftermarket), build pipeline, and convert leads into orders.
- Account management: manage and grow strategic accounts; maintain regular contact, perform site visits, and conduct technical discussions.
- Solution selling: understand customer applications (Cranes,material handling, conveyors, mixers, etc.), recommend optimal geared motor configurations, and coordinate with engineering for customized solutions.
- Quoting and commercial: prepare competitive proposals, pricing, commercial terms, and follow through to closure.
- Technical coordination: work with internal engineering, production, and service teams to ensure correct specifications, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- After-sales support: coordinate warranty claims, spare parts requests, and periodic customer feedback to drive repeat business.
- Partner development: onboard and support distributors; provide product training and sales tools; track partner performance.
- Market intelligence: track competitor activity, pricing, market trends, and customer feedback; feed inputs into product roadmap and pricing strategies.
- Sales administration and reporting: maintain CRM, update forecast, prepare weekly/monthly reports, and meet sales targets.
- Compliance: ensure adherence to company policies, quality and safety standards, and export/regulatory requirements if applicable.
Required qualifications & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering from a reputed University of India, or equivalent, MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of B2B sales experience in industrial drives, geared motors, gearboxes, electric motors, or related mechanical equipment.
- Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and managing technical sales cycles.
- Good technical understanding of geared motors, gearboxes, motor controls, and common industrial applications.
- Strong customer-facing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Comfortable with field sales travel across Chennai/Delhi/Kolkata and occasional travel to other states.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Configurator tools ; experience with CRM tools is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English; local language knowledge desirable.
