Your future role.
- You design automation systems for the mining industry, based on customer inquiries, incl. applications for grinding, electrification and conveyor systems.
- You support the client and our team on specifying the control architecture from an early stage, considering TIA Portal and/or PCS 7.
- You are in charge of preparing the technical offer (specifications, component designs, competitive cost calculation, technical risk assessment, timeline, procurement plan) in coordination with the involved areas (Sales, Engineering, Procurement, PM).
- You support other Quotation Managers in your area of expertise (Automation) and follow the projects under your responsibility, for a seamless handover to the project execution team.
- You are responsible for the support of systems and solutions up to the end customer or our partners, considering an optimized distribution of the scope of delivery and services between the involved parties and the value-flow derived from this.
- You will support the sales process, our regional teams and other stakeholders, and present the offer concept and their contents at the customer's site within the framework of clarifications and negotiations.
- As an expert, you analyze strategic trends and developments for technical solutions, products, methods and processes in the mining business.
- You will also clarify and agree independently with sub-suppliers and obtain offers for internal and external equipment and services.
- Elaborating, (further-) developing and introducing standards for offers (e.g. calculation tools) in close cooperation with the responsible project execution department is also part of your responsibilities.
- Additional to our own offer preparation process, from Germany (Headquarters), you also interact and support our regional teams worldwide, to assure the success of the global organization.
Your profile.
- You have a degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics, as well as several years of professional experience in industrial automation project business.
- You have the motivation to learn new subjects and tasks.
- You have experience with Automation systems using PCS 7 and/or TIA Portal.
- Experience in network technology and design is an advantage.
- You have experience with virtualization solutions (e.g. Hyper-V, VMware).
- An understanding of the production processes in the mining industry is an advantage.
- You enjoy working independently, but also working together in a team.
- Knowledge of project management methodology for the offer and execution process, as well as experience in the plant and project business (engineering and/or standardization) or commissioning activities in the implementation of automation solutions complete your profile.
- You recognize and evaluate possible risks, estimate influences on the technical solutions and initiate appropriate measures.
- You are business fluent in English (must). If German language is not fluent, must be a goal to develop in the next years. Other languages are an advantage, not a must.
- Willingness to travel internationally for short periods, when required, is part of your motivation.
